About Person County Court Records

Court records in Person County, North Carolina, are split across the Clerk of Superior Court, the Register of Deeds, law-enforcement agencies, and statewide court systems. The main courthouse is in Roxboro, but the right access path depends on whether the record is a trial-court file, marriage certificate, jail record, warrant matter, traffic citation, estate file, or county administrative record.

Why We Built This Site

North Carolina gives the public broad access to many government records, but Person County record searches can still be confusing. The Clerk of Superior Court keeps criminal, civil, special proceeding, estates, judgments, liens, and divorce judgment files. The Register of Deeds keeps marriage records, birth and death records, land records, plats, notary oaths, military discharges, cemetery records, and genealogy material. The Sheriff's Office and Roxboro Police Department handle law-enforcement records, while state systems handle eCourts, offender searches, driver records, and federal court lookups.

What You Will Find Here

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to any North Carolina court, Person County office, sheriff's office, police department, clerk's office, or state agency. There are real limits to what a private reference site can do:

  • We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
  • We cannot issue certified copies of any court document or vital record
  • We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific case applies to you
  • We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or procedure listed here is current at the moment you use it

Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. A Person County divorce judgment must come from the clerk, while a Person County marriage certificate must come from the Register of Deeds or an authorized state vital-record channel.

Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When one of those tools leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this reference site available. We do not control what those tools charge, what appears in their results, or how they update their data.
